Tea Space

In Fujimori’s eyes, a tea space is a limited space consisting of five elements: the building itself, the teaware, the fire, people’s physical bodies, and the language in which people communicate. Mei Kuai Ting, one of the tea spaces designed by Fujimori, will be the venue to present images of his related works and to accommodate live tea ceremonies for guests to join in. Aside from extending memories of local history, it also serves as a site of dialogue between humanities and industries as well as individuals and the society. As a “portable” teahouse, it will even go on tours in the future to help advertise Yilan’s tea tradition.
